Helping leaders and organisations make sense of change, complexity and uncertainty - through reflective dialogue and facilitation

wELCOME,

i AM JOANNE

me_edited_edited_edited.jpg
In times of transition and uncertainty, people are often pushed toward answers too quickly.

What’s often missing is space.
Space to pause, listen, and sit with real questions.

I design and host reflective spaces where people can come together without pressure to perform or resolve. These spaces support honest dialogue, deepen understanding, and allow new possibilities to emerge in their own time.

If you are a leader in an organisation or business sensing the need for a different kind of space - one that brings people together to reflect honestly and explore what matters.

about joanne

20240809_093517.jpg

For over twenty years, I’ve designed and facilitated reflective spaces that help people slow down, think together, and speak honestly about what’s really happening. These spaces don’t promise quick fixes. They create the conditions for clarity, connection and movement - even when answers aren’t immediately obvious.

My work often supports organisations when:

  • teams feel stuck or overwhelmed

  • strategy feels disconnected from lived reality

  • change is happening faster than meaning can be made

  • important conversations are being avoided or postponed

I bring a calm, questioning presence to complex situations, helping groups notice patterns, surface assumptions, and make sense of multiple perspectives — while staying attentive to the human dimensions of change.

I work across sectors, including international development, higher education and civil society, and I’m trusted to facilitate sensitive conversations with integrity, care and rigour.

At the heart of my practice is a simple belief: when people are given time, space and skilful facilitation to reflect together, new possibilities emerge - for individuals, organisations and the systems they are part of.

If you’re exploring how to create space for reflection, sense-making or honest dialogue in your organisation, I’m always open to a conversation.

Change is not forced. It arises through presence, relationship and shared sense-making.

I have had the pleasure of working with Joanne on an organisational-wide change initiative at VSO. She has bought her hands-on knowledge, experience and integrity to this project. She is inclusive and open in her working style, and not afraid to ask difficult questions or be challenged herself. Joanne has managed to help bring people together from all across the organisation and different functions to help us co-ordinate and link together more effectively, but also help us develop a joint vision and framework for putting quality programming at the heart of everything we do.

More about how I work

I work responsively, paying close attention to people, context and energy.

  • I design lightly and hold carefully

  • I adapt in response to what is emerging

  • I balance structure with openness

  • I work with uncertainty rather than against it

  • I value presence over performance

  • I trust collective wisdom and shared inquiry

Each space is shaped with intention, but never scripted.
